The Children’s Zero Waste Climate Quilt Project
Human Impact Institute Resident Artist Danielle Baudrand of The Children’s Zero Waste Climate Quilt Project will partner with artists Chantal Bilodeau and Julia Levine, both of Climate Change Theatre Action, and contributing artist Dorothee Pierrard, to engage students from Public Elementary School 51 in a performance of BRACKENDALE by Elaine Ávila, and a related visual art project about waste and climate change. By performing in a short play and working together to make a quilt out of various discarded packaging, students will voice their thoughts and opinions on the hazards of overconsumption and disposable culture on the environment. The goal will be to raise awareness about how human behaviors impact the planet. The workshop is part of a series of events for the Creative Climate Awards brought to the public by the Human Impact Institute
The quilt will be on display as part of the Creative Climate Awards Exhibit at the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office until November 16, 2017.
