Gaia: Vivência Ecopoética/Gaia: An Ecopoetic Experience is an artivist performative journey through the streets of Santa Cruz de Minas where we make site-specific performances that aim to develop  possibilities of community and collective actions around urban sustainability. This will be a new, immersive, participative, and collaborative artistic performance by Movère – a research and artistic group of ECOLAB  (Laboratory of Ecopoetics), connected to the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program on Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability. It will be a new public experience for the group in its new phase of investigation on ecopoetic training of the actor-dancer and the performer, in a somatic, cartographic, and performative way to create artivist community action.

The group has been researching this project since March 2016. The result will be an artistic experience that is spectacular and invites participants, performers and audiences to look at the importance of configuring spaces where possibilities for artistic practice, leisure activities, and activist experiences can coexist, with a focus on sustainability and reflection on climate change. The performance makes a transcreation of Homer’s ODYSSEY and Hiro Kanagawa’s GAIA.
