Opportunities on Thin Ice: Climate Change Theatre Action

This event is Warner Pacific’s contribution to world-wide theatre actions taking place between Oct. 1 and Nov. 18 in support of this year’s international climate conference in Bonn, Germany. Fifty playwrights from twenty-five different cultures wrote five-minute plays in response to the question, “How can we turn the challenges of climate change into opportunities?” Several of these plays will be presented in readers’ theatre style followed by a discussion with the audience. We’ll be joined in a discussion/info session about options for action by Maya Jarrad of 350pdx. There will be selfies and a chance for chocolate!

The selected plays are:

Angella Emurwon, BARE SPACES
Marcia Johnson, SINGLE USE
Elyne Quan, POND LIFE
Katie Pearl, APPRECIATION
Jordan Tannahill, NOCTURNE
Vinicius Jatobá, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER
Chantal Bilodeau, HOMO SAPIENS
Catherine Banks, THE PROJECT HOPE
