In a bar in North Dakota, Carol, a Hidatsa woman, encounters Steven, a white man who works for an oil company. Their conversation about biased news networks is interrupted by a TV report on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation protest against an interstate pipeline. Carol is brought to tears as she watches Native Americans claim their rightful place on the land.
