Professor Sherwood Rowland and Professor Mario Molina struggle as they research the consequences of CFCs and their destruction of the ozone layer. Despite facing funding cuts, industry opposition, and public doubt, they persist in their work, eventually leading to the ratification of the Montreal Protocol and the phase-out of CFCs.
