Catherine Banks is based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Her play Bone Cage asks the question, If a man’s job is to destroy what he loves (the natural world) how does he treat the people he loves at the end of a shift? She’s the recipient of two Governor General’s Literary Award for English Drama. Her play, Downed Hearts (2023), inspired by the Swissair Disaster, focuses on the fishers who went out to rescue people and came back forever changed.
