Kevin Loring

Kevin Loring is Nlaka’pamux from the Lytton First Nation in British Columbia. His Nlaka’pamux name is Nk’bux which means, The Transformer Aspect of Coyote. He is the first ever Artistic Director of Indigenous Theatre at the National Arts Centre of Canada. An actor, director, producer and playwright, Kevin is a graduate of Studio 58, and Full Circle First Nations Performance: Ensemble Training Program. He was a Playwright in Residence and a company member of the English Theatre Acting Company at the National Arts Centre. He co-wrote, co-produced and co-hosted the award-winning feature-length documentary Canyon War: The Untold Story. He is a recipient of the 2009 Governor Generals Literary Award for Where the Blood Mixes and the 2010 Governor General’s Performing Arts Award Mentorship Prize. Kevin is also the founder and Artistic Director of Savage Society, a not-for-profit production company dedicated to telling Indigenous stories sourcing myths, traditions, and the contemporary Indigenous experience.
