Art for Earth

Dec 152019

MaldEstro school for actors from Alibi Theatre in collaboration with other members of the community is responding to the call of ‘’Climate Change Theater Action’’. We are organising an event in the historic center of Corigliano d’Otranto, in the heart of Salento, a rural area in South Italy.

We have organised an intensive weekend workshop around the construction of performance with the theme of climate change called ‘’Art for Earth’’. We will be using different texts from international dramatist collaborating with CCTA:

David Finnigan – THERE ARE A LOT OF STORIES YOU CAN TELL ABOUT HUMANITY
Stephen Sewell – THE REASON
Mike van Graan – HASHTAG YOU TOO
Caridad Svich – A LETTER TO THE OCEAN
Giovanni Ortega – THE GODDESS OF MOUNT BANAHAW
Andrea Lepcio – IF NOT NOW
Katie Pearl – THE EARTH’S BLUE HEART
Meaza Worku – BY THE RIVER
Lena Šimić with Neal Anderson & Sid Anderson – THREE CONVERSATIONS
Marcus Youssef – DUST

The initiative is co-organized by:

Gustavo D’Aversa and Walter Prete from MaldEstro school for actors from Alibi Theatre
Viva Bailon member of Perfutura – Ecofutures Lab.
Carla Quaranta from Celacanto, a common good for the promotion of good environmental sustainability practices.

The workshop will take place during the weekend 14th and 15th of December:

Saturday 14th: 16:00-20:00
Sunday 15th: 9:00-13:00, 15:00-19:00
