Six CCTA plays will be integrated into the upper-division seminar in dramatic theory, “Theatre and Feeling,” at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. We will study them as examples of environmental micro-drama alongside readings from Theresa May and Wendy Arons on the challenges of ecodramaturgy. Then, the students will do a theatre “praxis” session in which we will read the six texts aloud outside on the campus green to passersby.
Plays are:
Matthew Paul Olmos – STARING HER DOWN
Marcus Youssef – DUST
Caridad Svich – A LETTER FROM THE OCEAN
Yvette Nolan – BREATHING SPACE
Sunny Drake – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OF ANY MEANING
Chantal Bilodeau – IT STARTS WITH ME
