Climate Change Action Theatre in Cumberland, British Columbia

Join Forest Stories Collective and Elevate for a staged reading event of short plays connected to critical climate change and resiliency themes. Dark, funny, through proving, irreverent and hopeful. The Forest Stories Collective and Elevate are part of a global participatory theatre project with hundreds of organizations across the planet reading from select plays through the fall and early winter of 2019.

 

The line-up of plays is as follows:

Vinicius Jatobá – THE STORY OF THE BOUNTIFUL WINDOW AND THE LAST ROPE
Damon Chua – STEAMY SESSION IN A SINGAPORE SPA
Hassan Abdulrazzak – LAILA PINES FOR THE WOLF
Katie Pearl – THE EARTH’S BLUE HEART
Julie McKee – HOLIDAY ON ICE IN A WARM CLIMATE
Caridad Svich – A LETTER FROM THE OCEAN

 

The plays will be read by: Wendy Morin, Bobby Herron, Anne Marie Scott, Esther Purves-Smith, Lee White, Will Cole Hamilton, Tina Willard-Stepan, Dan Griffith, Meaghan Cursons, Kai White, Indi White, Kera McHugh, and Robin Konstabaris.

Doors open at 7:15 pm. Readings start at 7:30 pm.

Tickets $12 and proceeds support future Forest Story Collective creative place-making projects dedicated to deepening connection to the natural spaces surrounding our community with the goal of building climate resilience.
