Climate Change Theatre Action in Kansas City

We are happy to announce that Theatre Alliance Kansas City is participating in the Climate Change Theatre Action International Initiative!

The Steering Committee members of TAKC, KC Rep, Unicorn Theatre, Kansas City Actors Theatre, Coterie Theatre, and the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, will be presenting an evening of short play readings commissioned by Climate Change Theatre Action 2019 around the theme of Lighting the Way.

 

The plays are:

Lana I. Nasser – THE BUTTERFLY THAT PERSISTED
Abhishek Majumdar – THE ARROW
Philip Braithwaite – ICE FLOW
Julie McKee – HOLIDAY ON ICE IN A WARM CLIMATE
Yvette Nolan – BREATHING SPACE
Caridad Svich – A LETTER FROM THE OCEAN
Marcus Youssef – DUST
Nathan Yungerberg – MISS VIOLA EVIE ANDERSON’S DINING HALL FOR BEES
Philip Luswata – WARRIOR OF THE HEAVENS

 

Actors include: Chioma Anyanwu, Nancy Marcy, Darrington Clark, Phil Fiorini, Justin Barron, Alisa Lynn, Keenan Ramos, Chris Roady, Julie Shaw, TJ Lancaster, Bree Patterson, Gay Glenn and others.

The event is free and donations will be gladly collected to support Bridging the Gap, a Kansas City based environmental organization whose mission is to make the Kansas City region sustainable by connecting environment, economy and community.Space is limited, so it is suggested that you arrive early.
