Companhia de Teatro de Sintra – Chão de Oliva presents “Earth Quadriptych,” with four CCTA plays exploring the climate crisis through urgent and creative narratives. With Chantal Bilodeau’s Homo Sapiens and Elyne Quan’s Pond Life, the tone is satirical, in a direct encounter between actresses and audience. Original Fire by Kevin Loring brings together three generations, with an additional voice on stage. This reading performance ends with E.M. Lewis’s poem Earth Duet, which inspired this event title and is the starting point for a collective creation, open to the audience.

Performers: Susana C. Gaspar, Paula Pedregal, and one additional guest
Producer: Nuno Correia Pinto

Chão de Oliva is based in Portugal and is a non-profit cultural association that was established in 1987 and has been recognised by the Portuguese government as a public service entity since 1999. In 2007, it was awarded the Medal of Cultural Merit by the Sintra City Council. Housed at the Casa de Teatro de Sintra (Sintra’s Theater House), it focuses its activities on three structural areas: artistic creation, cultural programming, and educational services. It has two resident theater companies: Companhia de Teatro de Sintra (Sintra Theater Company), the first professional theatre company in Sintra, founded in 1990, and Fio d’Azeite (Puppet’s Company), founded in 1992.
