Deep Listening in Northwoods (prohibitive weather location: Wilson Chapel), including a reading of Now by Wren Brian
“Deep listening,” is a concept coined by Pauline Oliveros referring to the conscious listening to nature, as opposed to involuntary hearing. Our event invites members of the Skidmore community to join us in North Woods for a deep listening exercise, aiming to cultivate a heightened awareness of the natural world around us.

- JKB mainstage, 3:25-3:45 pm – We’re Running Out of Chairs by Kirby Vicente, interactive performance and teach-in
We are going to engage our community by presenting Kirby Vicente’s We’re Running Out of Chairs, a play that allows us to reflect on our environmental impact while playing a game of musical chairs. The play will be followed by a brief discussion, which will encourage our community to think about the ways they could take action.
- 4:00-5:30 pm, Potuck, Crafts, Jam Sesh, Plays! – JKB and Arts Quad !
4:00-5:00 pm – Inside JKB: Potluck, Crafting, Music Jam, Planting, Food Drive, Take Action tables
5:00-5:10 pm – Gather
5:10-5:30 pm – Site Specific Performances at the Amphitheater, Green house, and Pond (end of event)
