Performances
Virginia Tech’s School of Performing Arts is excited to participate in the Climate Change Theatre Action worldwide festival of short plays addressing the climate crisis. The time to act on the climate crisis is NOW. Be transported into a world of story, myth, despair, laughter, and hope as we imagine together how our world might heal and be renewed. From a pod of orcas to two frog friends commiserating on the destruction of their pond, a chance encounter that leads to understanding or a “swamp witch” spinning yarns, we invite the audience into a world of possibility. Featuring selected works from Climate Change Theatre Action, a magical world unfolds through visual storytelling, puppetry, and live performance.
Run time is approximately 75 minutes and the lobby opens one hour prior to showtime. View the lobby displays and learn more about climate action at Tech.
Free admission, general seating. Please note, some of the plays contain strong language.
Look for our actors around campus November 2-6 as they perform selected works “pop-up” style. Then, plan to join us for full performances held November 8 at 7:30 p.m. and November 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the Theatre 101 black box performance space located at 200 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
