The Climate Project p.s. is being presented in conjunction with – AND in action with – a workshop production of The Climate Project, a physical theatre piece about the impact of climate change in the Sonoran Desert, developed by undergraduate students with University of Arizona’s Live and Screened Performance faculty member Rick Wamer and his theatre of metamorphosis – collaboratively devised theatre, constructed with a series of physical actions, which are rooted in empathic identification.

The Climate Project p.s. is a post script to this workshop production: two plays will be presented in the department’s black box theatre, post show and two will be filmed, available to The Climate Project audience via QR codes in their programs.

Annie Houglum (BA Theatre, Class of ’27) is producing The Climate Project p.s with student directors and actors.

Other community partners for The Climate Project include Nate Dryden (trapeze artist, Tucson), Dina Wamer (This Dreaming Earth Artist, Tucson), Joseph Farbrook (virtual reality artist, University of Arizona, School of Art), Porter McDonald (companion book, University of Arizona, School of Art), University of Arizona and Tucson local environmental groups, who will be sharing information, pre-show.

The Climate Project, as a whole event,  is part of the Arts Research + Resilience project with funding support from Arizona Institute for Resilience, the College of Fine Arts, and the School of Theatre, Film and Television at the University of Arizona.
